Poetry Picnic ...

Last Friday, Van's class had a poetry picnic. All month, the class had been writing poems in a notebook, then they had to pick one to share at the picnic. Parents were allowed to come and listen to all the poems. Van picked to share the shortest one he said, to read out loud. He gave me permission to share some of his poems here.

This is the one he read....

Spring Poem
Brown and black
Bunny
Jump
Spring is here.

Here is another one......

Imagine Poem
Imagine going to the moon.
And people are called trooper on
the moon.
And Predator x live on the moon.
And is it good there?
Yes it is good there.
Can you imagine it?

Here is his Frog Poem.....

One day there was a frog.
The frog sat on a log.
Then he saw a dog.
Then he was happy because of the dog.

And two more.....

Van
Fun and nice.
Good at learning about
Predator x, Easter egg hunt and
Counting to 100 and 200.
Loves cats and zoo.
Van

Here is his senses poem.....
Cats are brown and black.
Cats look like spots.
Cat sounds like bat.
Cat smells like rat.
Cat tastes like fur.
I feel furry because he's soft!

** Petey didn't want to go because he thought he was going to miss his class, he didn't of course, but that's why the long face. :( **

How fun! I love it that kids are working with poetry in school these days. It seems they got away from it for a while.

Hi Beth :)

He did a great job! Annie used to write songs when she was little. I miss those years :)
