A wedding Saturday.....

I mentioned that we dropped the kids off with the Grandparents, well that is because we went to a wedding on Saturday. One of Josh's friends from college got married close to here in Miamisburg. We also had an out of town guest ( another one of Josh's college friends). We just attended his wedding as well.

Sitting at the tables were these cute little heart shaped cookie cutters and a cookie recipe. I thought that it would be cute to share......

Here's the recipe.....

1 cup of shortening (1 cup of hope)
1 cup of white sugar ( 1 cup of kindness)
3 eggs (3 hugs)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract ( 1 teaspoon of sunshine)
3 cups all purpose flour ( 3 cups of wisdom)
1 teaspoon baking soda ( 1 teaspoon patience)
2 teaspoons of cream of tartar ( 2 teaspoons of Glee)

directions

preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a large bowel mix together the shorting and white sugar.
Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
Combine the flour, baking soda, and cream of tartar, then stir into the sugar mixture to form a dough.
On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough out to 1/4 inch in thickness.
Cut into desired shapes with cookie cutters.
Place cookies 1 1/2 inch apart onto cookie sheets.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes in a preheated oven.
Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes.

What did you have at your wedding tale for guests?????

Josh and I had Hershey's kisses.

We had little boxes wrapped as presents with mint chocolates that were our initials inside. As a suprise we had champaign flutes with our names on them too from my mom and dad. And a few lucky guests.... which I think you were one of them got a center piece!

We had candles at each place. I think something cheesy about brightening our day and warming our hearts was on them. I have a few tucked away I should dig out.
